As I'm writing this, I'm sipping hot chocolate after coming back from a walk to the park with Brett and HoneyBelle. It was a cold and brisk walk, and unfortunately, HoneyBelle did not catch any squirrels. (I'm pretty sure that the squirrels are happy about this.)

GRATITUTDE

One thing that brings gratitude in 2025 is being able to spend time with HoneyBelle. She is 13 years old, going on 13 months. She loves protecting us from the mailman whenever he gets too close to the mailslot. She knows where the treats are at our neighbors' homes (in the bathroom of her favorite Aunt Judy and Katherine.) She loves cuddling at night in bed and hogging the bed can get as comfortable as possible with her father. She also loves chasing squirrels and hoping that one day she'll be able to bring one home for supper so that we can grill it up for supper.

LEADERSHIP

President Jimmy Carter passed away at age 100 on December 29th, 2024. He was the 39th President and born in Plains Georgia in 1924. He won the Nobel Peace Prize in 2002. He had a wonderful marriage with his wife Rosalyn Carter for 77 years. He was also a humanitarian, and very active in Habitat for Humanity.

One quote he said that sticks out with me is, “Earlier in my life, I thought the things that mattered were the things that you could see, like your car, your house, your wealth, your property, your office. But as I’ve grown older I’ve become convinced that the things that matter most are the things that you can’t see—the love you share with others, your inner purpose, your comfort with who you are.” To learn more about him and pay your respects, go here:

Looking forward To

In late January, EgoPo is doing a new Adaptation on a Classic "The Drag" By Mae West.

From their website, "Written by the infamous sex icon of stage and screen, Mae West, The Drag, once hailed as outrageous and morally offensive, explores sexual and moral taboos to reveal both the pleasures and the cost of living a secret life. Closeted socialite, Rolly Kingsbury, navigates his suspicious wife, her therapist father who specializes in gay conversion, and his rowdy drag queen friends. Come for the drag ball and stay for this flamboyant and fiercely funny social satire. This production will be a new adaptation, putting it into the modern dialogue about Queer issues and the legislative actions being taken against queer people throughout the US."

Thank you for reading our little spot on the Internet. Can't wait to see what else 2025 will bring it and share it with you all.
