Our household is thinking about cutting the cord and going cold-turkey from good old fashioned cable tv. With the past writer's strike, there has been fewer things to watch on the regular tele.
We have started to binge watch these tv shows:
We've started binge-watching several TV shows:
"Only Murders in the Building" on Hulu: This show boasts a stellar cast including Steve Martin, Martin Short, and Selena Gomez. The writing is sharp and witty, offering a fantastic portrayal of life in New York. We love going to NYC, and it has helped us love the city more.
"Succession" on HBO: The Roy family, a mix of characters you both love and hate, provides an intriguing look at a media-based dynasty. The parallels with the Murdochs from FOX or Trump are evident.
"Bodies" on Netflix: A captivating sci-fi crime drama set in London, spanning from the late 1800s to the future. The initial complexity of intersecting detectives' lives gradually ties together seamlessly.
"Doctor Who" now on Disney+: The Doctor, an iconic character fighting for good, brings hope to viewers. With likable characters and a storyline spanning 50 years, it's a timeless classic. (P.S. You can find super-old episodes of Doctor Who if you look hard enough.)
"The Fall of the House of Usher" on Netflix: This TV show, similar to "Succession," explores a family dynasty but adds a sci-fi twist with each episode referencing Edgar Allan Poe. P.S. Everyone dies.
Anything Marvel on Disney+: As superhero enthusiasts, we're hooked on anything Marvel.
Currently, we're leaning towards Hulu+ as it seems to offer the best deal for us. However, we're open to other options. Please share what helped you cut the cord and any TV shows on your watchlist.
